Plain-language privacy notice

Your chord charts stay on your device.

The editor is designed so you can open, recognise, transpose, annotate and export a chart without sending the chart to us.

We do not upload or store your chord charts

PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG and HEIC files are read and processed inside your browser. Chord recognition, editing, transposition and PDF creation happen locally on your device.

Your compositions are local too

The composition manuscript processes Pencil input and engraves notes in your browser. We do not receive or store this music. Download a composition file to keep an editable copy, or export a PDF or MusicXML file. Closing or reloading the page clears any unsaved composition.

What happens to a chart

  • Your selected file stays in the current browser session.
  • We do not store its filename, pages, images, text, chords or annotations.
  • We do not sell chart data or use it to train AI models.
  • When you close or reload the page, the working copy is cleared. Any PDF you chose to export remains wherever you saved it.

Anonymous usage metrics and feedback

To understand whether the app is useful, we count a small set of events:

  • page visits;
  • successful file opens;
  • transpose actions;
  • PDF save or share actions; and
  • optional 1–5 carrot ratings.

You may also choose to send written feedback. We store its selected topic and message, but do not ask for a name or email address. Event and feedback records are kept for up to 12 months and contain no filenames, chart contents or persistent device identifiers.

Small browser settings

The app may remember in your browser that it counted the current visit or already invited you to rate the app. This avoids duplicate counts and repeated prompts. These settings do not contain chart data and are not used to follow you across other websites.

Tips and Stripe

The app is free. If a voluntary tip link is enabled, payment is handled on Stripe’s secure payment page. This app does not receive or store your full card details. Stripe handles payment information under its own Privacy Policy.

Security and service logs

The hosting and security services that deliver this website may process short-lived technical logs, such as connection information, to operate and protect the service. We do not combine those logs with chord-chart contents or the anonymous event counts described above.
